I just wanted to say a couple of things that don’t really warrant a post. It is more akin to general information that I care to share.
First, a little about my background (and I mean very little). I have previously been employed as a programmer (who has dabbled in design) in MMOs. That’s pretty much all you are getting.
Second, posting is going to be coming sporadically at best. You see, I only write up posts when two things happen.
A) Someone says something completely asinine on a blog, news site, or interview that is game related and I feel compelled to call them out on their stupidity.
B) I have downtime and need something semi-productive to fill it with.
So, enjoy my rants, raves, and sometimes questionable conclusions, just don’t expect them to come every day, or even every week for that matter.
And finally, I tend to speak in generalities. I do this for a number of reasons. It limits potential legal issues (as most game developers sign contracts that explicitly stop them from talking about their products and/or companies without expressed permission from said company even if they no longer work for said company). And it is the only way to really discuss topics without delving into the countless exceptions to the rule that exist in every scenario. So, bare with me when I begin to say ‘generally’, ‘typically’, and ‘usually’ every other sentence.
